Mental Health

I have suffered from anxiety and depression for years. Through a lot of work and many, many tools, I have learned to manage both.

A few of my tried and true tools:

  • Morning meditation
  • Gratitude journal
  • Taking 15 minutes in the early evening to plan the following day, hour by hour
  • Podcasts (Mel Robbins is my current favorite)
  • Daily movement
  • Medication and talk therapy
  • Evening wind down routine
  • No alcohol (see my page on alcohol-free living)

I am also a firm believer in personal development work — I constantly read about ways to decrease anxiety and depression naturally, and how to become more efficient and effective in life. Some of my favorite books:

  • The Mindful Way Through Depression by Mark Williams
  • Atomic Habits by James Clear
  • The High Five Habit and The Five Second Rule by Mel Robbins
  • Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
  • The Little Book of Big Change by Amy Johnson
  • The Mayo Clinic Guide to Stress-Free Living by Amit Sood
  • Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo
